Build the backend free. Deploy your server with Runtime.
The Dev tier covers the BaaS: auth, data, live ops, matchmaking, and SDKs within its documented limits. Runtime is a separate compute product: every Dev project gets a small evaluation allowance, then ongoing server time and egress are metered.

Crux Runtime
Godot 4 Linux export → isolated EU process → READY endpoint → short-lived join tickets → logs/results → clean termination. No Docker is required from the developer.
Dev projects include three lifetime Runtime hours, one concurrent session, and a one-hour session cap. Runtime is not an unlimited free-compute tier. Read the v0 contract →

What counts as a MAU?
Any player who authenticates (guest, email, OAuth, or custom token) at least once in a calendar month. Bots and server tokens are free.
What happens over the limit?
Nothing is cut off automatically. Every plan has a peak request rate (10 / 100 / 1,000 req/s) and requests beyond it get a 429 with Retry-After - your game keeps working, just throttled. Monthly allowances are not hard-metered; if sustained usage outgrows your tier we email you about upgrading. There is no per-call billing, so there are no surprise invoices.
Can I downgrade?
Yes - anytime. Your data stays put; only the limits change.
Is Runtime free forever?
No. The BaaS Dev plan is free within its MAU/API limits, but arbitrary Runtime compute has a finite evaluation allowance: three lifetime Runtime hours per Dev project. Ongoing usage runs on metered Runtime access.
Do you have a startup deal?
Yes. Message contact@supercraft.host with a one-liner about your game and we'll sort you out.
